Airport Palonegro
Palonegro airport or as it is officially called in spanish Aeropuerto Internacional de Palonegro is located about 30 km west of Bucaramanga. The name of the airport comes from the region Palonegro where the1000 days war took place. In 1969 started the construction of the airport and it was finished in 1974. When it was ready it replaced the old airport called "Gómez Niño".
The airport itself is about 1200 meters above sea level. The runway is 2250 meters long and 40 meters wide. IATA has the airport in the books as a BGA.
